Lots of mineral water companies also used to take water from this lake for their own  purposes.    In 2010 government filled this lake with water due to the concurrence of Commonwealth Games. D eforestation and rampant borewell digging in the area owing to urbanisation worsened the situation, leaving the lake high and dry. The lake is still dried up till now.
